The skinny on this project:
I'm not going to toot my own horn too much here and certainly lots of people worked on this project, but as far as the major creative force for this website, look no further.
We started out with essentially nothing, the idea of building "myspace for high school atheltes ."
We ended up with yourseason, and although it has yet to reach its maturation as a social networking platform, its does as good a job as any site I've seen at bridging the gap between how the newspaper covers news and how a website covers news.
As I mentioned before lots of people had a major hand in creating this product especially Mike Obrien (if you other folks want to email me with urls be my guest). But the parts of the site that I am responsible are as follows:
- The name: yourseason.com.
- The look and feel, which are specific attempts to appeal to younger demographic and younger advertisers.
- The commitment to a focus on user generated content and user focused design.
- The logo and the tagline "Its what you make it" (trademarked).
- The Sun-Times first use of JQuery.
